Democrat Andy Kim wins NJ Senate primary in race to replace ‘Gold Bar’ Bob Menendez


Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ) received the Democratic New Jersey Senate Main Tuesday and can transfer on to the final election, the place he will vie to unseat indicted Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) in November. 

Kim crushed the Democratic slate of opponents, cruising to victory with 82% assist. 

“Simply noticed the information,” Kim wrote on X after the Related Press projected because the winner with lower than 30% of the vote in. “Thanks for this unbelievable win!”

“What we achieved over the past 8 months is exceptional,” he added. “We constructed a stunningly highly effective grassroots motion that took down the unfair poll line and adjusted NJ politics without end. Now we’re able to take our motion for change to the US Senate!”

The 41-year-old Backyard State third District consultant and former Obama administration State Division official launched his bid for the Senate final November, simply weeks after Menendez was indicted on federal corruption expenses.

He was all however assured victory after beforehand staving off a problem for the seat from Tammy Murphy, the spouse of Gov. Phil Murphy.

Menendez, 70, introduced Monday that he would compete to maintain his seat as an unbiased.
