Rachel Bilson and some shut pals welcomed followers again to The O.C.
Bilson, who starred on the Fox teen drama sequence The O.C. as Summer time Roberts, was joined by present creator Josh Schwartz and govt producer Stephanie Savage on Wednesday in West Hollywood to rejoice the twenty first birthday for the fondly remembered program that signed off in 2007 after 4 seasons. A shock musical visitor on the occasion was the band Phantom Planet, who carried out a number of tunes, together with their single “California,” which was used because the present’s theme music.
“It’s exhausting to imagine that was 21 years in the past,” Bilson informed followers on the occasion. “And you recognize what I noticed? I used to be 21 after we shot the pilot. I do know — mind-blowing.”
In introducing Phantom Planet, Schwartz stated, “It will not be The O.C. with out this band. We’re thrilled that we have been ready to make use of their music on the present and thrilled that they’re right here tonight.”
In the beginning of their set, the band’s lead singer, Alex Greenwood, expressed his appreciation for being part of the sequence. “That it’s been 21 years is insane,” he stated. “I really feel like that simply occurred a month in the past.”

Tequila model 21Seeds, which sponsored the celebration, has partnered with Bilson, together with Fake Empire — the manufacturing firm based by Schwartz and Savage — for a marketing campaign celebrating the actress’ character, Summer time Roberts. Schwartz and Savage have extra not too long ago served as govt producers for such tv sequence as Gossip Lady, Runaways and Metropolis on Fireplace.
Debuting again on Aug. 5, 2003, The O.C. co-starred Peter Gallagher, Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, Adam Brody and Tate Donovan. The sequence adopted wayward teen Ryan Atwood (McKenzie) transferring into the pool home belonging to his legal professional Sandy Cohen (Gallagher) and their household in tony Newport Seashore.
