The Federal Commerce Fee mentioned Thursday it had issued orders to OpenAI, Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon and Anthropic, requiring them to offer data on current investments and partnerships involving generative AI firms and cloud service suppliers.

The orders are a part of an inquiry that “will scrutinize company partnerships and investments with AI suppliers to construct a greater inside understanding of those relationships and their influence on the aggressive panorama,” the FTC mentioned in a press release.

The company mentioned the businesses may have 45 days from the date they obtain the order to reply.

Earlier this month, Politico reported the Justice Division and FTC had been in discussions over which company can probe ChatGPT maker OpenAI on antitrust grounds, together with the AI agency’s partnership with Microsoft.

Microsoft’s tie-up with OpenAI has raised antitrust scrutiny after the software program big dedicated to take a position over $10 billion into OpenAI last year.
